About Oak City Recovery

Run Club

About the Run Club and Testimonials from Run Club Members

Our goal is to pair the running community with the Recovery community in support of people seeking healthy ways to better themselves as they build meaning and purpose into their lives.

We meet Tuesdays at 6:00 pm at 1251 Goode Street in downtown Raleigh.  And Saturdays at 8:00 am at NC Art Museum at 2110 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh.

All skill levels are welcome- we have 1, 3, and 5 mile loops through Dorothea Dix Park and Downtown Oak City

“The group gives me  gratitude, and grants me the space to help some guys along their recovery pathway.  That’s why we do this. That’s what it is for me.”

“I run today with such gratitude of just being back in life again. For a long time, I really didn’t contribute much to life, and didn’t really experience life as I should have been. And today, running has taken me to great places. I experience a lot of joy in life again through running.”

“We’ve got lawyers, and judges, and successful people out here interacting with each other and running with each other who probably would never talk to each other on the street.  I definitely think it’s the most diverse run group in Raleigh.”
